A day hike near McCall, Upper Hazard Lake can be approached from several directions- we took the long, but scenic, way.

This was a spring hike through the recent Payette burn. Only three or four years previous, this area was heavily forested with soft needle duff obscuring the tread of the trail. It's quite different now, but also beautiful. |

| We don't get to hike with Mariel very often, so this was a treat. First we hiked to Hard Lake. |  |

John thought it was pretty special to spend time with Mariel. Mariel didn't seem so sure.
