This climb has become a New Year's tradition. Here's reports from previous years:

We started a bit later, 7, in hopes of getting some full moon time on the descent. There was old snow the entire way, but never more than a couple inches deep.

But after a pleasant climb up in calm air, the wind came up on the summit, making the ~15° temp seem brutally cold. We got off before the moon did its thing.

But first I had to take one with my finger over the flash. Much laughter and derisive comment about the ability of the photographer.

Reminds me of an old album cover.

Happy New Year!
