The map showed a trail, so hoping against hope I drove to where the trailhead might be. Bingo! A trailhead sign. This is looking good! |

Trail sign, yes. Trail? Well, I see some cut logs. Let's look more closely. |

The lower trail has actually been cut out somewhat recently. You have to pay attention, but you can move along pretty well. The snowy area right of center might be the summit, but I'm not sure. PS- I vote we change the name 'buck brush' to 'tick brush'. |

As you climb, you get rewards. Looking northeasterly, on the left (red indicator line) is Sister Creek Peak. On the right is Goat Creek Peak. |

We weren't the only ones to visit this area. It's been really warm, so you can bearly tell what it was. |

Looking more northerly, the peak on the right is Square Top. The one on the left is high on my To Do list, Mr. Fadgen. |

As we got near the summit, I had to do some creative route-finding to avoid as much snow as possible. | ![]() |
Summit. Perhaps snowshoes would have been a good idea? |

Things to see during the descent: Warm Lake. |

There was a prediction of 50% POP and possible thunderstorms. As our blue sky disappeared, we felt some pressure to get down. The trail was easier to see on the descent. |

I missed it on the way up, but I could hear it. I love coming away from an outing with a need for further exploration. |

Map Trail starts at upper right.
