It was a Saturday, but considering it was Golden Lake we expected an empty trailhead. And we were happy to have our expectations met. But then we found Charmin flowers, evidence that some people do not deserve to visit these beautiful places. No respect for the land. No consideration for others who might visit. #3 when you #2, people. |

As we worked our way above the valley floor, we could see haze to the south, but had good visibility and blue sky directly above us. That's Slick Rock on the left. |

The 'trail' up the hillside is dry, sandy, and loose. Until you get to the meadow. |

From the meadow, it's not a lot farther to the lake. We had left town right at 8, so now the sun was just up. |

We had come to take photos, relax, and do a little fishin'. Ruby was doing quality control. |

That looks like a good one, Uncle Dave! |

Good job! |

I also did some good work. | ![]() |
Later, the fish took the afternoon off. We were out of coffee. So sadly, it was time to head home. Can you tell that Fall is coming? |
