Dave's daughter Nicole is visiting, so we have to come up with activities every day, despite May/June weather issues such as snowpack, gray skies, etc. It is such a burden.

So today, we took her for her first visit to the Kennally Creek area to attempt Peak 7860, which shares a ridge with Green Mountain.

It wasn't long before we were enjoying snow on the ground and a little spit from the sky.

Note: This is above where we parked, but our parking spot at 6400' had snow nearby.

I had done this peak before, so opted to try a slightly different route, a shortcut if you will. Because there's our peak right over there (our ridge continues up stage left).

The topo showed the contour lines getting a little tighter, but only briefly. When we got to it, it was a little tighter than we wanted....

We worked around the steeper sections, paying attention to our fall line. And the holes in the snow. And the creek running underneath. And.... Trailhead

And finally getting down to mellower terrain.

Then across the basin, which was laced with flowing water. It's amazing how much water was flowing for not a lot of basin. Creeks, waterfalls, and gurgling under foot.

The ridge in the background is where we had been. A little cliffy here and there. And on our return, we climbed the nose of it on the right.

But back to our story. As usual, Ruby knew right were to go. And tried so hard to be patient with her slow humans.

Summit shot. Looking westerly.

The pano below is looking north. Lots of NTP going on.

We put on our warm stuff and hung out on the summit for half an hour.

Then we headed back toward the previously mentioned ridge.

There was some spice getting up onto the ridge with a pretty good drop to climber's right, into the Kennally drainage. And then a last little kicker to kick up.

On several occasions during our descent we were thankful to have a GPS track to follow; after you leave the sharp upper ridge it softens up to be a little deceptive.
