I was going to call this trip report "2021 Snowshoe Superspreader." But despite our rather large group, we really were trying to be responsible. No greeting handshakes. Taking turns going for open doors while we geared up. That sort of thing. |

Still, a pretty good-sized group. And then we ran into a couple trying to find some solitude on their cross-country ski with their dog. Sorry, folks. |

The road climbs at a constant but mostly pleasant grade. So soon enough there are views. |

The passing clouds made for interesting lighting. |
![]() |
The group sort of accordioned its way up the hill. |
![]() |
On the way up, trail breaking was minimal because we were following a tidy snowmobile track. |
![]() |
We had all the color groups. |

Something close to our summit. |

Brett (aka Exflatlander) admiring the view. We played a bit of NTP, then sat in the snow for a leisurely lunch in the sun. I, being older and more experienced, knew that one should have a PB&J on any SuperDave outing. | ![]() |
Then we departed in the opposite direction, leaving the decision about a second peak for later. For now, let's do a lollipop. |

Ummm, the route down implies something slightly different...... Oh well, it's really pretty up here. |

Another opportunity to avoid going uphill. Eventually, we got back to the road down. |

Then we went up for our second peak, but this uphill was planned. Deep, untracked snow made it a fair amount of work. There were some peekaboo views, but it was mostly forested. Then another bushwack back to the road, which had been fully trashed by some maroon in a 4x4 who apparently thought his fun was worth ruining the trail for all other users, even the snowmobiles. |
